The most noteworthy art venue in Bangalore is arguably the National Gallery of Modern Art, which highlights traditional Indian art through the ages, starting from the 18th-century. Displays range from paintings, miniatures and graphic prints to sculptures and photography. Visitors can find permanent exhibition of artworks by Raja Ravi Varma, Rabindranath Tagore, Amrita Sher-Gil and Jamini Roy.
