The majestic Golconda Fort, dating back to the 13th century is one of India’s finest citadel complexes, and a remarkable example of ancient engineering, as well as a storehouse of legends, including that of the Kohinoor diamond.
Qutb Shahi Tombs, mausoleums of the Qutb Shahi imperials and their families, is a photographer’s playground and a peerless example of Indo-Persian architecture.
As an emblem of the city, the ceremonial gateway of Charminar still acts as a magnet for its arresting structure of granite, lime and mortar, marking the crossroads of four cardinal directions in the historic old town.
Mecca Masjid is an elegant monument featuring all the traditional elements like minarets, a courtyard and a water tank. It stands like a haven of peace bang in the middle of the congested Lad Bazaar.
Chowmahalla Palace of the Nizams, now functioning as a museum, is an essential pit stop on every visitor’s list. Fountained gardens, lovingly restored furniture, exhibits of clothing, vintage photographs, Belgian crystal chandeliers and a collection of antique cars impart an aesthetic spirit to the stately ancestral mansion.
Slip into the streets of bazaars and dig into the culinary heritage of the old town. Tickle your tastebuds with ‘biryani’, ‘kababs’and ‘nihari’. Pick up arty souvenirs and sign up for workshops on zardosi embroidery or lac bangle making.

Thank you for a wonderful trip to Kerala. We loved the village life walk and Fort Cochin walk. The backwater cruise in a traditional country boat was an incredible experience. As a solo traveller, I felt safe and was exceptionally well taken care of. The cooking class in Jaipur was extremely enjoyable. The food, chef, and his wife were all exceptional and made for a lovely evening. Also, our expectations were definitely exceeded at a private residence, spending time with the elephants and lunching. Thanks for organising a great trip to Lucknow and Varanasi. The hotels at both the places were excellent; we had a great guide in Varanasi who went beyond the designated tour route and showed us around. The food tour in Lucknow was amazing and re-discovering the Awadhi Cuisine was a great experience – the kebabs were out of the world!
It was a terrific experience to spot the King of the jungle in all their glory at Gir. We had a very good experience overall.
