Away from the sparkle of the party lights and the old-world charm of colonial architecture, track down an offbeat Goa, made for outdoorsy, active adventures. Embark on a cliffside ocean trek, which starts at the secluded Paliem Plateau, follows the path of a perennial stream and leads to the sandy stretches of North Goa’s Bohemian paradise, Arambol Beach. Expect cliffside vistas, lungfuls of crisp air and one of Goa’s best-known secrets…a heart-shaped freshwater lake, just meters from the sea.
Depart early morning from Porvorim in Goa and drive to Paliem, a small village located between Arambol and Keri. This is the starting point of an idyllic trek, which takes you along Casuarina trees along a hilly path to the vast and grassy windswept Paliem plateau. Soak in the bounties of nature, with lush green forest patches and the spectacular seascape of the Arabian Sea lapping against a rock-fringed bay.
After crossing the plateau, the trail leads through a lush, evergreen forest to the heart-shaped Paliem freshwater lake, just 200 meters from the sea. Set against a thick forest and fed by springs, the lake is lined with sulphurous mud.
Finally, reach Goa’s northernmost beach, Keri, a secluded destination away from the city noise and thronging crowds. After lunch in a beach shack, drive back for Goa in the afternoon.

Thank you for a wonderful trip to Kerala. We loved the village life walk and Fort Cochin walk. The backwater cruise in a traditional country boat was an incredible experience. As a solo traveller, I felt safe and was exceptionally well taken care of. The cooking class in Jaipur was extremely enjoyable. The food, chef, and his wife were all exceptional and made for a lovely evening. Also, our expectations were definitely exceeded at a private residence, spending time with the elephants and lunching. Thanks for organising a great trip to Lucknow and Varanasi. The hotels at both the places were excellent; we had a great guide in Varanasi who went beyond the designated tour route and showed us around. The food tour in Lucknow was amazing and re-discovering the Awadhi Cuisine was a great experience – the kebabs were out of the world!
It was a terrific experience to spot the King of the jungle in all their glory at Gir. We had a very good experience overall.
