India’s Silicon Valley and capital of Karnataka is coveted for its contemporary buzz, thriving nightlife and global identity. Generously blessed with green spaces and a pleasant climate, the ‘Garden City’makes for an enjoyable city break all through the year. Explore the prime attractions of the city on a 2-hour long walk around the Secretariat area located in the Central Business District, which exudes grandeur with its grand colonial architecture and lush parks.
From the starting point at General Post Office (GPO) building, the walking tour will introduce you to the Raj Bhavan (the Governor’s Residence), which stands out with its colonnaded porch and a large formal garden.
Next up is the grand edifice of VidhanaSoudha, one of the most striking palatial secretariats in the country. Built with a blend of Neo-Dravidian and Indo-Saracenic architectural styles, the palace of granite is the most iconic symbol of the city and the largest legislative building in India. Across the road is the Karnataka High Court building, AttaraKacheri, making an impressive statement with its Neo-classical red brick façade and ornate Corinthian columns. Learn about the history of these majestic monuments; then switch gears with a stroll through the green lungs of Bangalore, Cubbon Park.
The 120-hectare park, a favourite haunt of both locals and visitors alike, houses memorial statues and several noteworthy buildings, including the red-painted Gothic-style State Central Library. Breathe in the fresh air enveloping the sprawling greens, where thousands of specimens of flora and fauna thrive. The park even has a lotus pond, a bamboo groove and even a 20 million-year-old fossilised tree gifted by the Geological Survey of India. Towards the end of the tour, there is a scheduled visit to the State Museum and the Venkatappa Art Gallery, home to an eclectic collection of artworks.

Thank you for a wonderful trip to Kerala. We loved the village life walk and Fort Cochin walk. The backwater cruise in a traditional country boat was an incredible experience. As a solo traveller, I felt safe and was exceptionally well taken care of. The cooking class in Jaipur was extremely enjoyable. The food, chef, and his wife were all exceptional and made for a lovely evening. Also, our expectations were definitely exceeded at a private residence, spending time with the elephants and lunching. Thanks for organising a great trip to Lucknow and Varanasi. The hotels at both the places were excellent; we had a great guide in Varanasi who went beyond the designated tour route and showed us around. The food tour in Lucknow was amazing and re-discovering the Awadhi Cuisine was a great experience – the kebabs were out of the world!
It was a terrific experience to spot the King of the jungle in all their glory at Gir. We had a very good experience overall.
