Sitting on banks of the River Mandovi, Panjim’s distinctive colonial character is evident in its heritage architecture, charming houses and leafy avenues. Panjim’s unique character is best experienced by biking through its broad roads and narrow back-lanes. The tour begins at the historic location which marked the main entrance to Panjim during the Portuguese rule and moves uphill to the upscale Altinho neighbourhood, where grand mansions, government offices and the iconic Sunaparanta Art Gallery stand enveloped in the shady boulevards.
Move on the Latin Quarter, also called Fontainhas, which is the oldest part of Panjim. In the cobbled streets lined with colour-washed buildings and charming villas, Portuguese influence is still rooted firmly in the architecture and local culture. Expect to immerse in interesting stories, collect fascinating trivia and stumble upon surprises.
Explore the main highlights of the area like Adil Shah Palace with a secret tunnel, Jardim de Garcia de Orta, synonymous with a famous botanist and the much-photographed Immaculate Conception Church, housing the second largest belfry in India.
Other landmarks that are covered during the cycling tour of Panjim are Archbishop’s Palace Maruti Temple, Fonte Fenix, Fundacao Oriente, Pousada. You will also have the chance to see the St. Sebastian Chapel, Sao Tome Ward and 31st January Bakery.

Thank you for a wonderful trip to Kerala. We loved the village life walk and Fort Cochin walk. The backwater cruise in a traditional country boat was an incredible experience. As a solo traveller, I felt safe and was exceptionally well taken care of. The cooking class in Jaipur was extremely enjoyable. The food, chef, and his wife were all exceptional and made for a lovely evening. Also, our expectations were definitely exceeded at a private residence, spending time with the elephants and lunching. Thanks for organising a great trip to Lucknow and Varanasi. The hotels at both the places were excellent; we had a great guide in Varanasi who went beyond the designated tour route and showed us around. The food tour in Lucknow was amazing and re-discovering the Awadhi Cuisine was a great experience – the kebabs were out of the world!
It was a terrific experience to spot the King of the jungle in all their glory at Gir. We had a very good experience overall.
